I am excited about today’s blog post! Katie and I had mutual friends through church, but we didn’t officially meet until I heard they were adopting a little girl from Korea. As a way to be an encouragement to Katie and her husband Brad, some friends put together a large, multi-family/friend garage sale and reached out to local vendors to donate items as well. The event was held last August and was a big success. I was glad to be a part of it. You can get the full details over on Katie’s blog here.
Because adoption is such a special part of Brad and Katie’s life, she decided to launch a new business where a portion of the profits are donated to those wanting to adopt children of their own. I asked Katie to write a little bit about the new endeavor and I know you will show her some love and support.

With much excitement on Christmas day 2010, my husband and I began the process of adopting. Little did we know what amazing blessings and challenges the next two years had in store for our family. We were matched with our daughter – a seven month old cherub from S. Korea – very quickly in “adoption time tables” and unbelievably, 6 weeks later, I discovered I was pregnant. What should have been an incredibly joyous discovery was clouded by our adoption agency’s policy that an adoptive family’s rights would be terminated if a pregnancy occurred. We were not willing to give up that easily and long hours were spent during the following weeks gathering support and petitioning for our daughter’s adoption. Amazingly, our agency overlooked their policy for our family and we continued with Zoe’s adoption. Six months later, miracle Max, our “little package. BIG surprise” arrived in perfect health and six months later, we were on our way to Korea to bring our now 23 month old daughter home. Now, six months later, we are settling into our “new normal” and loving every minute.
