A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot the company pictures for the real estate team I work for. Talk about pressure. If no one liked their pictures, guess who they had to see everyday at work? Yep. Yours truly.
However, I think the shoot went well and everyone had a semi-enjoyable time. It was a good learning experience for me, as I’ve never shot pictures for something this big, when I had to be in the shot myself. I drug out the ‘ole tri-pod and set my camera for the self timer. After taking a few test shots to adjust my lighting and posing, I pressed the 10-second timer and quickly run over to my place in the picture. As with most group shots, you need to take multiple shots of the same pose for certainly there is always that one individual who is blinking or the wind is blowing her hair all wrong, or who isn’t even looking at the camera!
Thankfully I work with a fantastic group of people and everyone cooperated and I think we were in and out in an hour. We took several group shots downtown at Larkins on the River. Our first location choice was the top of the Poinsett Hotel, but as I quickly found out, they like to keep it exclusive for brides and grooms who’ve booked the hotel for their reception or honeymoon night. Oh well, you can’t win them all right?
So without further ado, below are the pictures we ended up with for the day for the J. Michael Manly Team of Keller Williams Realty. Which group shot is your favorite? If you’d like to see our headshots, you can check out the blog at www.JMichaelManley.Wordpress.Org.
