I can’t believe June is almost over with! I was trying so hard to be more consistent at blogging and this month just flew by and I haven’t really made the time to sit down and blog. June was a busy month for the Byrnes household. Jon was in Alaska at Higher Ground Baptist Bible Camp for ten days working on various construction projects around the camp. We first went in 2007 and loved it! Ever since then we’ve been wanting to go back and it just hasn’t worked out. Jon had the opportunity to go again this year and jumped on it. Alaska is such a beautiful place, if you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend it.
It seems like just about everyone I know has a birthday in June and our family was no exception. It feels like we’ve been celebrating birthdays for the entire month. Although, I must say, the biggest birthday will be next month in July. My nephew will be turning the big ONE! Don’t worry, I’ll provide ample amounts of photos of the event.
Last weekend we went to Atlanta to visit my sister-in-law, her husband, and my other nephew for Father’s Day. It was nice to get out of town for a day or two and relax with family. We took a day trip (okay it really wasn’t the entire day, but it sure felt like it) and visited the Amicolola Falls in Georgia. In order to see the falls, you had to hike up these steep switchbacks and then climb 175 stairs to get to the top. Mind you, it was about 100% humidity and close to 99 degrees out, but we all made it, babies and all.
The falls were really quite pretty and I tried experimenting with my camera. However, as it seems with most of my experiments, it didn’t turn out quite like I had planned. Looks like its back to the drawing board before I can showcase what I was trying to accomplish.
In the mean time, I’ll leave you with a picture of the lower falls, right before you start the mammoth climb to the top of the falls.
Happy Tuesday!
