Today is the second installment of my Greenville local business highlight and I know you are going to like this one! As I mentioned in my post last week, I want to bring something fresh and interesting to my readers while out on maternity leave.
Today’s business is all about flowers, Urban Petals, to be exact. Anna is the proud owner of this fabulous flower business and I really love her designs. We’ve worked together in the past on a stylized shoot and had a lot of fun. Anna’s studio is in the booming Taylor’s Mill part of town and if you haven’t been over there yet, you need to!
Again, I sent Anna a little interview to help us get to know her and her business just a little bit better.
What’s the name of your business?
Located in Taylors, SC
How long have you been in business?
What are your business hours?
Available by appointment only, and the first Friday of every month from 6-9 PM.
Describe your business.
At Urban Petals, we specialize in wedding and event flowers. I also produce succulent wreaths, gardens, terrariums, jewelry and living pictures.
My goal is that each of my clients gets a completely unique and customized look incorporating their ideas, dreams, and preferences with my lush and textural style. I prefer to use novelty flowers and greeneries which are intriguing, beautiful, and visually stimulating. I also love using seasonal and locally grown flowers as often as possible because of the rich, organic feel which they bring to any arrangement.
How did you get started?
When I began doing flowers in 2012, I simply agreed to arrange bouquets for a friend’s upcoming wedding. One thing lead to another and word spread that I was doing flowers. I ended up doing three other weddings before my friend’s wedding date even arrived. Fast forward two and a half years, and the business continues to grow! In addition to several other weddings, I have also designed two destination weddings, and assisted with a dream wedding at the Biltmore Estate.
What is your favorite product or service that you offer?
I love creating the bridal bouquets. They are such a special and emotional part of the bride’s attire.
Describe your ideal client.
My ideal client would be a bride who puts her complete confidence in me to design the wedding flowers of her dreams and gives me the flexibility to choose local and seasonal flowers that will best achieve her look and style while staying true to my lush and textural style.
What is your favorite color and why?
White. It’s clean, crisp, and simple.
What is your favorite thing about Greenville?
My favorite thing about Greenville is that it’s HOME.
Where is your favorite place to vacation and why?
I absolutely love vacationing at the beach. I love everything about it – the burning sand, the salty sea air, indulging on sea food, the shells, the noisy sea gulls, the waves…
Anything else we need to know about Urban Petals?
I am still booking weddings for 2014 and into 2015.
